Below is one our favorite diet soup for losing weight. It's our low
calorie, low fat Manhattan clam chowder. It's less than 100 calories with
no fat. Of course the best way to lose weight is to take a balanced approach.
We don't recommend that you only eat soup to lose weight because that's
nothing more than a starvation diet. Starvation diets never work because
your appetite will fight back and you'll over-eat or binge, usually later
in the day.
Instead, incorporate 4 to 5 small meals per day and eat 25% less calories.
Increase your activity through daily walks or stationary bike riding and
you will lose all the weight that you want.

Below is our low fat clam chowder recipe
- 2 large onions, chopped
- 1 large carrot, diced
- 1 cup chopped celery
- 1 green pepper, chopped
- 1 cup clam juice
- 16 ounce can stewed tomatoes
- 4 cups water
- 1/8 teaspoon thyme
- pepper to taste
- 2 cans cooked clams
- fat free crackers crushed
- In large nonstick saucepan over high heat, saute onions, carrot, celery
and green peppers in clam juice until tender. Add stewed tomatoes, water
and seasoning to soup mixture.
- Cook for 10 minutes. Stir occasionally. Add clam to soup and simmer
for 10 minutes longer. Stir occasionally. Thicken with crushed crackers
just before serving. Serve hot.
Makes 6 servings; Per serving: 90 Calories, 0 Fat Grams
